This is a rare vintage Luxo L-1 articulating task desk lamp. The cone and arms show some wear and paint splatter (please see the photos). The lamp arm tends to droop, but it can easily be fixed with new top springs or tightening. All springs are present and original. The cord and plug are original. Here are the sizes: 7 1/2 inches long cone; 6 3/4 inches diameter cone. The top arm is 20 inches long, and the lower arm is 18 inches long (18 + 20 = 38 inches). The original cord is 6 feet long. This drafting/architect's light has an industrial, minimalist style and is a classic retro angle poise lamp originally designed in Norway. The shape of the cone dates it between 1947-57. These lamps were originally designed by Norwegian Jacob Jacobsen in 1937 for Luxo.
