Our practice is a collaborative Nurse Practitioner - Midwife clinic that has recently joined the South Island Primary Care Network. The clinic is situated on a beautiful farm, and includes one full time Nurse Practitioner, 5 Registered Midwives, and one MOA. We provide primary care across the lifespan with a focus on new families and reproductive health care. We are committed to a progressive, inclusive, supportive team environment. Our priority is to increase access to midwifery and primary care for equity-deserving populations, including IBPOC, LGBTQ2IA+, young parents, and others who face barriers accessing the health care they need. We are looking to hire an administrative office assistant (MOA) who will be primarily responsible for supporting our full time Nurse Practitioner, and will provide coverage for the midwifery clinic at times. The MOA will be on-site in clinic for at least two in-person clinic days per week (one 8am-4pm, the other 10am-6pm), and the remainder of the hours will be worked remotely. The job is fast-paced and requires flexibility, adaptability, and a commitment to learning. The successful candidate will: - Have the ability to develop rapport and communicate clearly with our clients and staff. - Have a basic working knowledge of medical terminology. - Be a front-line presence for the practice, taking incoming calls, being clients’ first point of contact, and arranging appointments for clients with our NP/RMs, other medical clinics, and at VGH. - Help clients feel warmly welcomed while maintaining professional communication including diplomacy, confidentiality, - Be familiar with spreadsheets, able to learn our EMR system OSCAR (including submitting Billings and encounter reports to MSP, entering client demographics, uploading and dispersing lab reports, archiving past medical records, etc.), and use our phone and fax systems. - Be skilled at multi-tasking including managing a busy email inbox, triaging requests as appropriate, receiving and managing messages from midwives throughout the day with tasks to complete, sometimes urgently. - Work with our existing midwives’ clinic MOA to develop office routines and share tasks as required. - Be committed to providing culturally safe and inclusive care to vulnerable populations - Prior experience in a medical or allied health office is desirable. - People who identify within IBPOC or LGBTQ2IA communities are encouraged to apply. Hours: 24hrs/wk, in-office and from home Compensation: starting at $23/hr equivalent salary, with potential for an increase after probationary period. Vacation: 2 weeks paid vacation annually, eligible after the first 6 months. Start date: July 17, 2023 Please email your resume and cover letter to lauren@roundhousemidwives.com by June 19th.
