Point Hope Maritime (a Ralmax Group Company) has an exciting and immediate opening for a fulltime Labourer in Victoria, British Columbia. Labourers provide a variety of services in the including materials delivery, setting up for specified work on a vessel, preparing vessel surfaces, performing fire watch and hole watch duties, assisting in docking and undocking vessels and assisting other shipyard workers and trades as required. Please apply to this link: https://ralmax.bamboohr.com/careers/147?source=aWQ9MTY%3D What we offer: • Competitive base pay • Comprehensive benefits package • Pension • Health and wellness programs Responsibilities: • Perform tasks involving physical labour • Operate hand and power tools as necessary • Clean and prepare sites/vessels • Assist trade workers as directed by your supervisor • Load and unload equipment and materials • Prepare vessel surfaces as required • Perform fire watch and hole watch duties • Assist in docking and undocking vessels Qualifications: • No formal education required • Experience working in a shipyard environment an asset • Confined Space Entry training, Fall Protection and Elevated Work Platform training an asset • Labour experience an asset Requirements: • Must be able to stand, crouch, kneel and/or sit for extended periods of time, able to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders and work from elevation, and walk on varied terrain • Regularly perform repetitive tasks • Ability to work within confined spaces • Possess manual dexterity Work Conditions • Safety equipment will be required, e.g. steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses/goggles, etc. • Overtime as required • Hazards associated with the trade • Work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions Application Process We welcome applications from all backgrounds and cultures to join our team (including selfidentifying Indigenous, status, non-status, Metis, and Inuit and non-Indigenous cultures).
