Porter’s Furniture is looking for an experienced delivery driver to join our team. You must apply in-store with a resume. We are looking for a strong, experienced candidate who can work 4-5 days a week, and is available to work weekends. Responsibilities Include: -Physically load and unload packaged furniture (both assembled and disassembled) safely and efficiently to and from 1-ton truck, and from distribution trucks to our storage. -Provide safe delivery of our products into the customer's home (during COVID-19 a mask and gloves are required when entering customers’ homes) -Act as a representative of Porter’s Furniture every step of the delivery process -Bi-weekly runs to Ellice recycling and the dump -Effectively work as a team with a delivery assistant ensuring safe delivery, loading, and assembling (this will be after a training period, which is dependent on your ability) -Unload and organize in-store deliveries from our manufacturers -Assembling furniture both in-store and directly on-site in customers' homes -Usage of moving tools and supplies, including plastic wrap, blanket pads, straps, and dollies -Observe safe work procedures and driving practices -1-2 monthly trips to the mainland to pick up products from our manufacturers, and distributors. These will be a mixed load of items, boxed products and items that must be blanket wrapped. (This will be after a training period, which is dependent on your ability) Skills & Requirements: -Class-5 drivers license (for at least 5 years) with a clean driving record -Ability to lift at least 80lbs solo and 200lbs with a helper -Ability to establish effective professional relationships with customers and co-workers -High level of customer service with the ability to overcome customer concerns onsite -Experience with physical work -Ability to comfortably use online tools, like a mobile delivery app -Ability to recognize vehicle maintenance needs -Punctual, hardworking, and reliable team player with a great attitude -Experience or knowledge of furniture assembly would be an asset -Experience in moving furniture would be an asset Interested candidates, please drop off resumes in person at 1721 Hillside Avenue—ask for Mike or Dallin.
