Full time ECE/ECEA at Little Acorn Care Centre

Position Available: This is a full time position, 8 hour per day shifts; with a one hour unpaid lunch break. Shift will be 8:00am – 5:00pm, Monday to Friday, working in a room with 19 children between 2.5 to 5 years old with two other full time Educators. Duties will include: • Plan, develop, and implement combined day long child care programs designed to meet children’s social, physical, intellectual, creative, cultural, emotional and developmental needs in a child care environment • Provide opportunity for creative expression through the mediums of art, dramatic play and music • Build children’s social, interpersonal skills and self-esteem by establishing routines and using positive guidance to allow children to feel secure, comfortable and safe. • Assess the developmental level of children • Provide supervision and guidance of daily activities, field trips and special events • Establish and maintain good communication with children’s families and community agencies involved in children’s development. • Assist in housekeeping duties Qualifications: • A valid B.C. License to Practice as an Early Childhood Educator or Assistant • ECE or ECEA Certification or Diploma • Must meet BC Child Care licensing requirements for valid and subsisting first aid certification • Signed authorization to conduct a criminal record check (as required by BC Child Care Licensing Regulation) • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills • Ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively with our team • Professionalism when working with staff, families and children at all times
