Machinist or Machinist's Apprentice

Foreman CNC Machining Ltd is growing to meet demand and looking to add to our team. We have three full time, permanent positions available at our modern facility in beautiful Sidney, BC. You are an experienced machinist or machinist's apprentice who lives all things precision and enjoys a fast paced, varied work environment. You are comfortable working to tight tolerances in a variety of materials and familiar with Haas milling machines, Doosan lathes, fanuc controllers, and/or MasterCam. Responsibilities: - read/interpret blueprints/drawings - develop a procedure to machine parts to drawing specification - select appropriate tooling - program multiple operation parts with CAD/CAM software - create reusable fixtures and jigs when required - cut material for production (alloy steels, stainless, aluminum, bronze, HDPE, acetal) - setup vertical CNC milling or CNC lathe machines with workholding/fixtures and tooling - measure/inspect all critical dimensions - keep machine operating through large and small production batches of parts - optimize machining process to save time over large production batches - monitor machines, tooling, dimension/quality and maintain as required Qualifications: - Either Journeyman machinist or at least 3 years on the job training or completed 1st year machinist apprentice schooling - Proficiency in technical English ForemanCNC Machining Ltd is a CNC Machine shop in Sidney BC with clients from the aerospace, oceanographic, forestry, medical, and marine industries.
