Victoria Snow Plow: Hiring: Lead Operators, Jr Lead Operators, Labourers

Victoria Snow Plow(Avenue Road Property Maintenance) has been around since 2011, and have been servicing Lower Vancouver Island. We take pride in our hard work to mitigate snow build up for our commercial and residential clients. We are the emergency responders to the winter storms we experience. We own 4 F350 trucks attached with plows and salters. This adds about 7ft to the total length of the vehicle. We also have 1 F150 equipped with a snowblower and plow. Sr. Lead Operators (30-36.50/hr based on experience)(November - March) Description: You will be required to manage a team up to 3 people while providing snow and ice maintenance. You will be given a list of properties in which you will need to salt or snow plow parking lots, steps, walkways, sidewalks, fire exits, making it safe for residents and clients to walk and drive throughout their property. You will be provided a short list to finish each service event. That list will be yours from the beginning till the end of the season, in addition, any operator will support other operators if need be. Requirements: Early and late shifts, 24/7 reliability from November to March, to react to weather events at any time, day or night Arrive to work in a speedy fashion and be ready to work at a moments notice all season. Having an open schedule is a must, we react according to weather. Minimum 1 year labour of medium to heavy physical effort Miminum 3 years of driving experience(preferably trucks) Clean driving abstract(1 minor offence is okay) Excellent winter driving abilities. Must have a modern smart phone with data capabilities.(we can pay for a portion of your usage) Be able to exceptionally lead your team of 1-3 crew members Comply with and enforce all safety precautions Assist with basic, routine opening and closing shift duties during each snow event Use of company vehicle for duration of winter contract as required for work obligations Ensure top notch quality control and efficient completion of service with time constraints and dead lines. Jr Lead Operators(CoPilots)(25-29.50/hr based on experience)(November - March) Description: As a Jr Lead Operator, you will be teamed up with a Senior Operator and work side by side, for the season, by ensuring properties are serviced fully. You will be getting in and out of the vehicle to load salt buckets, salt hoppers, provide salting and shovelling to walkways, sidewalks, entrances, fire exits, and any other paved areas where customers or residents will walk. Requirements: With the above mentioned duties, you will be trained to be one of our team leaders. You will receive 1 on 1 training with our experienced staff to get you where you'd like to be! Early and late shifts, 24/7 reliability from November to March, to react to weather events at any time, day or night Having an open schedule is a must, we react according to weather. Minimum 1 year labour of medium to heavy physical effort Assist in opening and closing duties before and after storm events. Learn to operate a snow blower and other tools used for snow and ice removal General Labourers(18-25/hr based on experience)(December-March) Description: You will be teamed up in any of the crew trucks to be directed by lead roles in where and what to salt or shovel. You will assist in the snow removal, deicing and salting of areas by carrying buckets of up to 50lbs with salt to be dispersed in a proper fashion to mitigate snow or ice buildup. Requirements: Learn to operate snowblowers and other tools used for snow and ice removal Lift and spread 50lb buckets of ice melt or salt Rides to and from work are available. On call 24/7, early and late shifts, reliability from December through till March. Guaranteed minimum 10 hours per month even if there is no snow and no work All roles will be required to wear proper footwear, weather proof and steel toe boots. Proper winter clothes, and to be water resistant.(jackets, pants, warm socks, extra socks, extra shirts), water bottle, snacks. There will be some snacks and meals paid for depending on duration of shift.
