Vancouver Island OPEN BENEFIT HORSE SHOWS & EVENTS Providing Affordable & Fun Equine Events For All Ages & Levels We are a small group of horse enthusiasts, some new to the experience and some who have spent a lifetime with horses. Our mission is to work within the community to fund and operate horse shows and events, providing affordable and fun activities for all ages and levels. As the cost of everything continues to rise, local equine clubs and groups who have previously held the Open English & Western horses shows, have been forced to shut down as the shows were no longer paying for themselves. We are working to bring the shows back by offering sponsorships to help fund the operating costs of holding a show or event. We are also asking for sponsorships to help provide trophies and prizes. Horse showing, for the exhibitor, fosters sportsmanship and teamwork, builds confidence, and teaches important life skills such as goal setting and achievement... Horse showing brings a community together, planning and working towards a common goal, with parents, family and friends volunteering for the day of the show. Horse showing in the community, is a vital part of the local equine industry, and is necessary in keeping local businesses, feed stores, tack stores, breeders, trainers, coaches, in operation. This is a not-for-profit organization and run by volunteers. All funding will go directly towards the operation of the shows and events. Funding necessary for our first show to be held this summer with plans to hold two shows this year and to continue the events in following years. Funds for any following shows and events will be not as large and the events will, hopefully begin to pay for themselves. Start up Operation Costs Facility Rental Judge Ribbons first place to sixth Prizes – approximately 20 (46 classes) - $10 to $30.00 each or donate a prize Trophies – approximately 20 (46 classes) - $30.00 each We are working towards having trophies and prizes awarded to, not just the winners of the classes, but also to random placings in different classes, rewarding all of those who have worked hard to train and prepare their horses and themselves for the shows and events.
