Residential Drafter / Technologist

Hoyt Design Co., a progressive residential design studio in Victoria BC, specializing in Custom Home Design, is seeking an experienced Project Drafter or Technologist. Key Responsibilities: 1. Work collaboratively with the Principal Designer to develop conceptual design and project technical drafting for residential new custom home and renovation projects; 2. Liaise with Clients, Construction Team members and other Project stakeholders as necessary; 3. Coordinate, organize and prioritize projects, and be responsible for the timely delivery of design deliverables to Clients. Skills and Qualifications: 1. Design and drafting experience, with preference for those candidates who have worked in residential design. This is not an entry level position; 2. Experience working directly with Clients; 3. Hands-on construction experience in wood frame construction preferable; 4. Proficiency with Autodesk REVIT Architecture mandatory; 5. Experience with navigating complex zoning bylaws mandatory; 6. Strong understanding of the BC Building Code is mandatory. Preference will be given for a candidate with local experience in the CRD / Vancouver Island regions. 7. Diploma or Degree in Architecture or Building Technology preferred, or an equivalent level of experience. Candidate Profile: 1.
