Saanich Neighbourhood Place is looking for Early Childhood Educators to join our Child Care staff team in our new Child and Family Centre Infant/Toddler programs and our Preschool programs. In this role, you will be part of SNP's dynamic and inclusive team. In addition to planning and implementing a program, tasks of ECE include providing children with a developmentally appropriate, fun, safe and healthy environment. Job Responsibilities As an Early Childhood Educator, you will be required to develop, evaluate and adjust programming in cooperation with the other child care staff and manager; communicate with families effectively; assist in maintaining children’s records, our play spaces, etc. Light housekeeping is a part of the role, as is some documentation, staff meeting attendance, and ongoing professional development. Education Training and Experience · Early Childhood Education (ECE) or Infant Toddler Education (ECE-IT) · Current BC license to practice · Documentation in accordance with Community Care Facilities Branch licensing requirements · Excellent interpersonal skills with parents and community members · Willingness to work within a team setting Qualities and Skills · Ability to be energetic, resilient and maintain a sense of humour when personal resources are challenged · Effective interpersonal skills under all types of conditions, exhibiting a supportive, positive approach. · Able to perform in the physical effort for lifting, bending, stooping, carrying and reaching overhead. · Knowledge of licensing requirements and health and safety legislation · Well organized and ability to work autonomously with minimal close supervision Weekly hours: 35 to 37.5 per week Application deadline: Ongoing Salary: Starts from $28.61 or $29.77 (including wage enhancement of $4/hr) depending on experience and credentials Benefits: Includes health benefits after 3 months Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Salary: From $28.61 per hour Benefits: Casual dress Dental care Extended health care On-site parking Paid time off Schedule: Monday to Friday COVID-19 considerations: COVID-19 considerations: We have an extensive health and safety plan in place to keep educators and families healthy during this unpredictable time.
