ECE-A (Oak Bay Preschool)

Oak Bay Preschool is excited to be looking for an energetic and enthusiastic individual to join our team as an ECEA for our 4 week Summer Camp! Oak Bay Preschool is a parent owned cooperative, and the best place on earth to work. Have fun supporting children during inside and outside activities! The successful candidate will provide support to the in the following ways: - The ECEA will support the ECE Supervisor with supervising the children and implementing the preschool and childcare programs. - Assists with planning, implementation and evaluation of developmentally appropriate activities and experiences for children using modeling, observing, questioning, demonstrating and reinforcing techniques. - Ensure children are supervised at all times and engaged in safe activities throughout the day - Develop a positive environment which provides children with opportunities for success QUALIFICATIONS - Experience working with and relating to children aged 2.5-5 years, specifically children who require extra support - Ability to communicate skillfully and sensitively with the child, parents, co-workers and community professionals - Ability to observe the child’s behaviour and to objectively report on these observations - Ability and willingness to work in a teaching and team work environment - Ability to understand and apply current recreation, child development, and child care philosophy - Standard First Aid and CPR (C) & Criminal record check - ECEA certificate - Minimum 19 years of age Hours of Work: Shifts are Monday-Friday, 9:00am-1:30pm from 20th June-15th July - Wage: dependent on experience and accreditation - Job Type: Temporary, Part-time - Start Date: 20th June - End date: 15th June Interested individuals are requested to forward their resume and cover letter to: vicepresident1@oakbaypreschool.com Application is ongoing until a suitable candidate is found.
