Respite Worker / Caregiver

We require a respite worker to support a young man with intellectual disability. You are someone who values inclusion and diversity. You are a strong communicator, organized and trustworthy. Also, you can adapt activities and provide support increased participation in community and outdoors. You enjoy music (which includes pop and 80s tunes and the occasional karaoke session) and vibrant, fun events. The right candidate is: - Energetic, caring and kind - Patient and an active listener - Able to offer personal care, if required - Active in community & outdoors - Has a Criminal Record Check w/Vulnerable sector search - Able to teach life skills towards greater independence - Use your own vehicle & have a valid Drivers License Your duties include: - Organizing and scheduling suitable activities - Budgeting for and managing activity costs - Facilitating and teaching life skills - Providing consistent care and support - Transportation - Follow health and safety procedures - Maintain communication The wage is $20.00 per hour. The shifts are 2 x 4 hours (Tues afternoon and Saturday). You receive a per km rate to cover transportation. Expenses related to activities are covered as well.
