Inclusion Support Worker

Gonzales Co-op Preschool is excited to be looking for an energetic and enthusiastic individual to join our team as an Inclusion Support Worker! Hours of Work: Shifts are Tuesday and Thursday 9-11:30 am. Wage: dependent on experience and accreditation Job Type: Part-time Start Date: September, 2019 End date: June, 2020 JOB DESCRIPTION The successful candidate will provide support in the following ways: * Provide one-to-one support to a child in our program who requires extra support by fostering an inclusive environment while maintaining a strong group dynamic * Assist staff in implementing the individual and/or group activities which will facilitate successful inclusion * Develop a positive environment which provides children with opportunities for success * Follow guidelines on a Care plan that is created by the guardians and support staff in order to ensure successful participation in program * Help the child to become as independent as possible REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS * Experience working with and relating to children aged 2.5-5 years, specifically children who require extra support * Ability to communicate skillfully and sensitively with the child, parents, co-workers and community professionals * Ability to observe the child's behavior and to objectively report on these observations * Ability and willingness to work in a teaching and team work environment * Ability to understand and apply current recreation, child development, and child care philosophy * Standard First Aid and CPR (C) & Criminal record check * Completion of a minimum of 20 hours accredited child care related course work or ECEA or ECE * Minimum 19 years of age Application is ongoing until a suitable candidate is found.
