Lead Yard Engineer (Point Hope Maritime)

The Lead Yard Engineer at Point Hope Maritime is responsible for providing engineering support to the Dockmaster and technical support and production support to the Project Manager’s Office. The Lead Yard Engineer is also responsible for developing capital investment plans in support of current contracts. Responsibilities: - Prepare and maintain blocking calculation and docking plans for all dockings. - Prepare and maintain production support information and detailed engineering and technical drawings in support of the PMO. - Prepare and maintain graphic art and technical drawings in support of the GMO. - Develop and support solutions to improve project scheduling, resource and material planning related to the production support department. - Support the implementation of the new ERP solution and lead further digitalization of production. - Prepare proposals for automation and increased robot usage for fabrication of steel fabricated parts and pipes. - Prepare procedures and work instructions for the Yard Engineering Department and Production Department. - Provide input to the GMO with regard to strategic planning and organizational improvement. - Work closely with the Yard Superintendent to prioritize and schedule routine maintenance and repairs, ensuring high levels of asset availability and reliability while controlling costs. - Participate in the development of annual operating budgets and subsequent management of same. - Maintain Yard document control and digital document access strategy. - Develop in-house software applications or support the development of software required for optimizing the Yard performance. Education and Experience: - Minimum 10 years of experience in ship repair or the shipbuilding industry. - Progressive growth into senior management positions with a minimum 5 years of experience managing teams. - Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture or relevant subject area, or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. - Project Management Professional certification or a minimum of 4 years of project management experience. - Experience in working with Structured Query Language server administration.
