Title: Cabinetmaker Terms of Employment: Permanent, full-time (30-40 hr/week) Available Positions: 1 Wage: $23.50 Work Location: Victoria, BC Language of work: English Company Profile: Located in Vancouver Island, Victoria Custom Cabinets is a locally owned and operated cabinet making company offering the highest quality custom cabinets at affordable rates. We are helping both residential and commercial clients. Renovations, Millwork, Kitchen and Bathrooms, Walk-in Closet Organizers, Entertainment Centers, Bookcases & Wall Units. We provide free consultations and estimates. We are in search of an experienced cabinet maker to join our team Job Description and Responsibilities: • Specify the plans and mark outlined parts on the wood • Cut, shape, and form parts and components using hand tools and reinforce the parts using nails, screws, or other fasteners • Trim joints and assemble different elements of the unit together using glue and clamps • Operate woodworking machines, such as power saws, jointers, mortisers and shapers as well as hand tools • Sand wooden surfaces and apply veneer, stain, or polish to finished products • Repair, fix, or restyle wooden furniture, fixtures, and related products • Select the appropriate materials, fittings, and tools to make, repair or restyle of each specific task and estimate the amount, type, and cost of materials required Employment requirements • Completion of secondary school is required. • Minimum 4 years of related experience as a cabinet maker or a combination of experience and training • Certificate of cabinetmaking courses is an asset • Customer service skills and interpersonal skills to improve teamwork • Able to engage in physical activity for extended periods of time • Physical fitness, including ease of movement and the capacity to lift up to 50 pounds Contact Information/How to Apply: Email resume to customcabinetrecruit@gmail.com As an Equal Opportunity Employer, we encourage applications from all qualified individuals and specifically applicants from traditionally underrepresented groups – including Indigenous persons, vulnerable youth, newcomers, and persons with disabilities – who may contribute to the continued diversification of our organization.
