She has worked with several well-known, Grammy-winning artists and launched the Queen of Strings Competition to discover and teach young women in music. Opening for this evening will be Ludic LOWDOWN BRASS BAND FRIDAY, JUNE 30 ~ 6:30PM Chicago-based LowDown Brass Band is a constantly evolving collective of horn musicians and a uniquely strong representation of the windy city’s music culture. Describing their sound as “free brass,” this talented ensemble leans heavily on dancehall and street beat rhythm, with the energy of conscious hip-hop, funk, jazz, reggae, and soul. Opening for this evening will be Pulkes Band JAMISON ROSS SUNDAY, JULY 2 ~ 6:30PM Grammy-nominated singer, drummer, and producer Jamison Ross has made a mark on the music world ever since he won the Thelonious Monk International Jazz Competition at age 25. His style emanates from R&B, gospel, blues, and neo-soul.
