Featured concerts at the Victoria Event Centre are: MALI OBOMSAWIN QUARTET SUNDAY, JUNE 25 ~ 9PM $28 (service charges may apply) From the Abenaki First Nation, Mali Obomsawin (they/she) is an award-winning bassist, vocalist, songwriter, and Bomazeen Land Trust co-founder. With a background in American roots, rock, and jazz, they address a wide range of themes. TWIN BILL: STORRY AND WITCH PROPHET TUESDAY, JUNE 27 ~ 9PM $35 (service charges may apply) STORRY Multidisciplinary, Toronto-based, two-time Juno-nominated vocalist STORRY writes and produces her music and is intrinsically involved in all aspects of her career, from designing album covers to directing award-winning music videos. Though rooted in R&B soul, STORRY is at home in many genres from opera to reggae. A sex-positive queer artist who is pushing culture forward, STORRY’s art is raw and honest to the max. WITCH PROPHET Toronto-based East African singer-songwriter Witch Prophet creates a soundscape of vocal layers, loops, raps, and harmonies on a bed of hip-hop, jazz, and soul-inspired beats produced by her wife and business partner, SUN SUN. GABRIEL PALATCHI TRIO WEDNESDAY, JUNE 28 ~ 9PM $28 (service charges may apply) Argentina-born pianist Gabriel Palatchi and trio bring new compositions to TD JazzFest 2023! His first solo album was chosen as one of the best 2010 Latin jazz albums by JAZZ FM Toronto. He performs at music festivals and tours worldwide.
