Purchasing, Team Lead

Purpose: We are looking for a Purchasing Team Lead to join our Purchasing team. This role can be performed anywhere within Canada and reports into the Purchasing Manager. The Purchasing Team Lead will be the go-to subject matter expert (SME) for the Buyers within the Purchasing Team. The Lead will ensure that all service level agreements (SLA’s) and key performance indicators (KPIs) are being maintained and achieved for the Purchasing Team. The Purchasing Lead will work to ensure that Buyers are responsible for and actively managing all open orders and purchasing order (PO) back orders. Working closely with the Purchasing manager, the Purchasing Team Lead will coordinate the implementation of initiatives with Microserve’ s internal customers while providing operational excellence. Responsibilities: Maintains excellent customer service with all departments within the organization and with external suppliers Monitors the team’s activities to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction and provides support for both internal and external customers Review and ensure that the competitive bidding processes, plans and schedules for each project meets client needs Assist in the development of efficient business practices to be implemented by Purchasing Acts as an escalation point for the Buyer team regarding any vendor related matters that need to be addresses urgently Manages the day-to-day operations of the buying team Provides leadership, supervision, and mentorship to the team of Buyers by advising on practice, process, protocols, systems and best practices Responsible for performance management and coaching of the Buyer team Responsible for participating in the year end review process for the Buyer team Maintains open lines of communication with other departments to ensure confidence and enhance the relationships Responsible for driving operational responsibilities by constantly evaluating processes, procedures, and systems Responsible for working with Accounting Team on any vendor related issues Assist with project assignments which may require system testing and knowledge transfers. Managing Service Level Agreements (SLA’s) around order processing time, order accuracy, open order/backlog management etc. Responsible for updating and maintaining team KPI’s Responsible for working on Purchasing Team specific objectives/goals for the fiscal year Requirements: 2 years’ experience in supply chain or purchasing 2 years’ experience in leadership Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) certification is considered an asset Experience working in the IT industry is considered an asset Knowledge of CRM tools Significant experience with MS Office Suite, SharePoint, preferred Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational, analytical, and time management skills Proficiency in process management to manage multiple initiatives and projects simultaneously Excellent time management skills Demonstrated leadership ability and teamwork
