EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY Casual Front Desk/Health Screener M’akola Housing Society Langford, BC – Jesken Aerie This position is casual/on-call based on your availability. Position Summary The Front Desk Clerk will report to the Assisted Living Manager and manage the reception area while providing a warm and friendly environment for all the residents, guests, and employees. This role is responsible for answering telephones, keeping accurate documentation of incident reports and updating the communication log, booking visits and vendor appointments, and taking messages for all departments. The Health Screener at M'akola is responsible for maintaining and ensuring COVID-19-related orders of the BC Health Officer are adhered to and followed to ensure the health and safety of all residents, employees, designated visitors and vendors. The primary role is to greet and engage with all individuals entering the building to ensure that entry restrictions are understood, self-assessment tool and sign in sheet is complete, temperature check are completed, and their hands are sanitized. Front Desk Clerk Shifts available are 7 days/week from 8am-4pm, 4pm-12am, 12am-8am ($1.00 premium for this shift) Health Screener Shifts available are 7 days/week from 8:00am-4:00pm Qualifications • Grade 12 or equivalent • Courses or training in customer service, office systems and procedures • 1-2 years of experience working in a high-volume office environment • Experience in a congregate/assisted living setting is preferred • Clear Criminal Record Check • To obtain once hired (paid for by M’akola): • Occupational Level 1 first aid certificate • Food Safe 1 • WHMIS Preference will be given to applicants of Indigenous ancestry (please self-identify) as per Section 41 of the BC Human Rights Code.
