The meat has exceptional qualities that is rich and beautifully marbled with sweet tasting fat. Even uncastrated males are very slow to mature so they taste great up to two years old. This is an unmodified non-commercial rare breed. These pigs are a medium size that have an excellent low feed to meat ratio. They are hardy & natural browsers and do very well free-range and because of their pointy snouts they love to clear brush and lift heavy rock for land clearing. Ossabaw have higher in omega 3's than any other pork.
