$250 · Horse for Lease: Metchosin

Horse lease for an intermediate or experienced rider available at an adult oriented farm in Metchosin. The property is located next to the galloping goose trail for miles of trail riding and a short hack away from the Metchosin Community Riding Ring (requires registration at the Community Hall). There is also a sand round pen on the property available for use. The lease is a month to month arrangement with one month written notice to terminate the agreement. It's $250 a month for up to 3 days a week. The lease provides use of the horses tack and equipment, but not the rider's helmet or boots. There is general care required of the horse on your riding days, fly spray, hoof care, etc. The horse is yours on your designated lease day and you can ride anytime within barn hours 9:00am-8:00pm (daylight hours). The evening hours will extend or shrink as the daylight does. There are other horses on the property with leasers so there is potential to connect with others to ride and a FB group to keep up to date on barn news... such as baby goats! Horse Council of BC (HCBC) insurance and wearing regulation safety equipment - certified riding helmet and boots with a heel is mandatory. Domingo: Blue eyed Paint gelding "Dom" 15.3hh, all around guy. He goes english and western and neck reins. Please see link below to watch him jump. He's been restarted in the ring and requires a confident rider as he's developed some bad habits from previous riders. If you are to heavy on the reins he assumes you are insecure and can spook. He may be difficult to ride out alone, but with encouragement you can convince him to go. He responds better once he knows and trusts you. I'm looking for the right person to lease - my preference will be for someone who wants to commit long term. He develops a bond to his rider and it's heart breaking when the person leaves after only a few months.
