I know this motor very well and was never going to give it up, however it was not quite enough to get myself and someone over 200 lbs up on a plane in my 8' tender with all my fishing gear so I had to go up to a 9.9. I bought this from an estate 3 years ago and it was NEW at that time, So new I even made sure I broke it in. over the past 3 summers, I estimate I have put on less than 300 hrs with oil changes every 25-35 hrs "yes gear oil too" . I ran the carb dry after every use. Because of this it always started every second pull. Bring your Mechanic, Bring your compression tester, and your tender for a scoot around Elk Lake if you like. 2000.oo is firm I have room to store it and have enough marine playtime I am sure I will want it for something else in the future if I don't sell it.
