Y Young Moms Program Volunteer - Early Childcare Assistant Community Health (Downtown Victoria) Vacancies: 1 Position: Volunteer Placement: Immediate Hours: Wednesday evenings Nature and Scope: The Y Young Moms Program Volunteer - Early Childcare Assistant makes a difference in the lives of young moms by allowing them to participate in important educational opportunities, as well as in the lives of their children by providing the children with positive play interaction for a couple of hours a week. Responsibilities: - Supervise small groups of children while ensuring the program specific rules and/or Y guidelines are followed - Promote the YMCA-YWCA's Code of Behavior by role modeling a respectful and considerate attitude; providing a clean, comfortable and safe environment and following policies and systems that are in place to ensure all members share in an enjoyable experience - Remain alert to possible health and safety risks - Ensure appropriate equipment is available and safe to use - Engage, motivate and encourage member participation in YMCA-YWCA programs - Be actively engaged in the feedback process Qualifications: - Current Standard First Aid and CPR C required - Provide and maintain a clear Police/RCMP Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening required - High School Graduation required - 1 year of child care experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience To Apply: Please send a cover letter and resume to: Human Resources YMCA-YWCA of Vancouver Island Email: hr@vancouverislandy.ca Please Note: 1.
