Why grow grass when you can grow veggies?

With a vaccine on the horizon we are faced with the single most urgent question of our times "How shall we live moving forward?" For just a brief moment, the effects of this virus exposed just how grossly dependent we have become on the United States and other countries for just about everything we need to live. Only 50 years ago 85% of the food eaten on Vancouver Island was grown on the island. Today, that number is a staggering 7% and it continues to decline. What I offer is this: I wish to provide my time, knowledge and passion for small scale market gardening to turn that lawn of yours into a productive vegetable garden. My primary goal would be to provide you and your family with an abundance of healthy produce not without the potential for a supplementary means of income. I can help you build a farmstand to showcase the bounty of your garden, and assist in the construction of a chicken coop or any other infrastructure your considering. I would love to be able to test ideas, stay active and contribute to something I care about while making meaningful connections with those in my community. I would be going into any agreement with the intention of taking on all duties and responsibilities of the garden while giving you the ability to contribute as much as you'd like with no obligations from yourself. I am currently looking to assist someone in the Saanichton/Central Saanich area where I will be in range of a storage unit in the Keating Industrial Park that I currently use to store tools and building materials. If I have inspired you to flip that sod and get growing please reach out to me to discuss what is possible. Included is a map showing the most ideal places for helping you with this project.
