WANTED: Apt or house small dog friendly

I am a professional working woman of 50 who is currently living in Edmonton and would like to come out west to be near my son. He works in Ft Mack and I would be working in the legal field in Victoria. We are looking to rent a two bedroom or 1 bedroom and den for the two of us along with my little Shitzu non allergic, non shedding dog, he is 12 and well behaved. Son smokes outside. We do not party or play loud music. Very quiet and respectful. I cant take the minus 30 weather any longer!! Combined we have ample funds. We both have excellent references and would like to find a place for August/September of 2019. Thank you and I look forward to your replies. Any where in the city is ok.
