Hanna is a versatile teacher, who recently moved to Victoria after graduating from the University of Ottawa with a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance and a Minor in Classical Voice. She has played with the Ottawa Symphony Orchestra, in the University of Ottawa jazz ensemble, University of Ottawa orchestra, and sang at the National Arts Center with the National Ballet of Canada and National Arts Center Orchestra in the choral ensemble Calixa Lavalee. She was principal second violin of the Vancouver Youth Symphony Orchestra while growing up on the Sunshine Coast, and has been the guest soloist of the Sunshine Coast Community Orchestra. She has a keen interest and experience in folk and jazz music in addition to classical, and is excited to return to BC to be closer to family. She has performed in music festivals such as the Pender Harbour Chamber Music Festival, Tafelmusik's summer program, Orford Musique in Quebec, as well as international music festivals in France and the Czech Republic. Her principal teachers are Yehonatan Berick, Michael Van der Sloot, Nancy Dinovo, Ashley Vandiver, Julia Wedman (baroque violin), and Sandra Graham (voice). She loves to work with students of all ages and levels, and is expanding her teaching studio in the Fernwood area. Her rate is $25/half hour, $35/45 minutes and $50/hour
