I have a 16" viola handmade in 1973 by a local craftsman whom I I was lucky enough to live near while growing up in Oak Bay. Recently appraised at $2,000 value, this piece is crafted from local Maple and Spruce, is named "The Dewdney" has lovely sound, and is in excellent condition. There were a very limited number of violins and violas crafted by Mr. Shold: likely around 50 total. Very rare and collectible instrument. Comes with good condition horsehair bow, case, and copy of the appraisal sheet if you'd like to have it. I would like very much to find someone who will appreciate this viola. It has been in my family since original purchase from the maker in 1973. If you are interested in viewing/playing this piece please contact me and provide a phone number: I will return your call, probably in the evening once home from work.
