Riot "Polarity" Double Kayak with Rudder (2016 model year) - Red colour. These Roto Molded kayaks are pretty much indestructible. You won't need to worry about beaching or dragging your boat up those rocky shores. These are the shortest doubles on our dock - and therefore lightest and easiest to handle doubles on our dock. While not a true "gear sherpa" double, it is still capable of carrying 250 kilograms or 550 pounds! We find them great for day tripping and with the reduced size and unique "catamaran" hull shape they are very quick to paddle and very stable. They also have a couple of small hatches fore and aft for storage. We do not feel the Polarity is suitable for exposed or open ocean travel with two people on board - it's hatches are just a bit too small for sufficient buoyancy. We have never pressed it into overnight service but if your willing to go super light weight it might work. Better yet, you could go easily go solo and there would be oodles of room for gear in the forward hatch which could be then be covered. In sheltered water (we use it in the harbour or on the Gorge), or on lakes it makes for an ideal boat. We feel the Polarity is an outstanding beach boat for the whole family to play with and fits a wide variety of paddler sizes.
