Technics SL-1800 Mk2 quartz-lock direct drive turntable from 1979 - 81. This is a fully-manual turntable and has essentially the same electronics, platter, and tonearm as the SL-1200. Table has been serviced: completely cleaned inside and out; pots and switches cleaned including the often sticky power button; center spindle pulled, cleaned and re-oiled with the proper Technics oil.; silicone fluid in the cueing mechanism changed. Additional goodies added: From kabusa.com: a T-1200 tonearm fluid damping system; wax spindle thrust pad; and tonearm stub anti-resonant plug. Also the interconnects have been upgraded with a pair using Van Damme silver plated oxygen free copper cable and Rean gold-plated RCA connectors. Upgrades have definitely taken the table to the next level. Cartridge is a Excel ES-70EX with a low-hour aftermarket EVG (Made in Japan by JICO) quad stylus. There's some debate online if this is a true Shibata cut diamond but regardless it's a very nice sounding cartridge. Also included in the package are a number of original Technics accessories: tonearm auxiliary weight; original headshell; headshell weight; alignment gauge; aluminum 45-adapter; and original copies of both the owner's manual and the service manual. Overall the turntable is in very good condition for its age. Some minor scratching on the plinth. Dustcover is free of cracks but does have one small chip out of it on the front edge. This table has never been DJ'd. This is a lot of content. The base turntable is typically selling in the range of $350 to $400. The fluid damper retails for $200. The stylus $100. The new interconnects $30. The accessories $60 and the manuals $50. Note that the record weight is not included in the sale. This has been one of my main turntables for the last couple years. Time to pass it along. Please respond with a name and phone number, or don't expect to receive a response. Thanks.
