Meet Cranky the boat. I purchased this boat about 8 years ago. Since having it, I've had lots of fun with kids tubing. The Starcraft hull open-bow concept is great for being on the lake. The tri-hull makes it incredibly stable. Since the kids have grown and gone, I converted it to a small fishing boat, with one motor for speed when travelling and one for trolling. I added a second 9.9hp Yamaha four-stroke engine and custom made a bracket. The steering rod (pictured) connects both engines to allow for steering at the wheel. The little Yamaha purrs quietly and sips about a dollar an hour while trolling. This is the most fun and cheapest boat I've ever had. I have 2 manual downriggers and 2 rods if you're interested in fishing. Each motor is self contained and has its own gas tank since the 80 Merc requires oil mixed in. When I first obtained this boat/motor/trailer, the (licensed) trailer was in need of some new rollers. A friend was selling a massive set of rollers (and arms) which I installed about 6 years ago. They're overkill (because they're heavy duty and lots of them) but I love the fact that this thing just glides on the trailer with ease and feels solid. The boat originally had wall to wall carpet which I pulled out and coated with fiberglass and some non-slip stripes. This makes for easy cleaning. If you wanted to make this boat really come alive, you could add new seats. Both motors run well. I would've gotten rid of the old 80hp Merc except that it never lets me down. Runs every summer. It is showing signs of age but as they say "if it ain't broke don't fix it". I just changed out the steering with a better version that what was on there. The original steering had finally seized and there were signs of cracking on the steering cogs and so I replaced it from front to back and it works perfectly now. The trailer frame has been coated with POR15. Tires are about 5 years old but probably haven't seen more than about 300km on them... just trips to the fishing hole and back. Let me know if you're interested and would like to have a look. I also have 3 videos which you can see both the motors running as well as one on the water. Just email me for the links. Glen 250-380-2725 PS I'm not interested in selling this in parts and pieces.
