Sooke Transition House Society Resource Coordinator / Director Part Time The Sooke Transition House Society (STHS) provides emergency shelter for women and their children who are in crisis The Sooke Transition House is looking for a part time Transition House Society Coordinator/Manager.   Specifically, we are looking for someone to fill our requirements to continue or establish ongoing relationships with our funders, referral agencies and service providers, with a possibility to develop new programs. Required Education and Experience: Degree an asset and preferred but equivalent combination of education and experience could be acceptedExperience facilitating meetings and a strong working knowledge of financial systems and practices Experience working with funders, governing bodies, financials and budgets Knowledge of relevant local/provincial/national communities and non profit organizations Familiarity with community resources in the South Island region Required Skills and Abilities: Excellent interpersonal skills with a good record of contributing positively in a team-based work environment Demonstrated ability working collaboratively with the Board of Directors, Manager, Accountant, Bookkeeper, members, agencies, program staff, volunteers and non-profit of publicly funded groups, and organizations Demonstrates patience, tact, passion and enthusiasm Excellent written and verbal communication skills Grant, report and budget drafting skills Excellent organizational, record-keeping and management skills Proficiency in the use of computer software, including ability to create statistical reports in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and teleworking* * Teleworking can be negotiated   for possibly 80% to 90% of the position. Teleworking allows employees to work remotely using internet technology and communication tools. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Satisfactory Criminal Record Check Hours of Work: The core position is approximately up to 20 hours weekly Wage: $30 per hour
