I am a History Graduate student at UVic looking for oral history participants for my thesis on gendered secularization on the Island. I am looking to speak to women aged 65 to 85 who grew up in the Catholic Church ON VANCOUVER ISLAND, and have since left the church - for a personal faith, spirituality, or no religion. I am interested in the era of the 1960s and 1970s in particular. This doesn't need to be some cool story of activism, I'd prefer to just speak to ordinary folks who left behind the faith of their parents - for varying reasons. Perhaps this is you, your mother, or your grandmother? If so, please connect them with me. * I have received full ethics approval from the UVic Ethics Board to proceed with this project.
