Position Summary The Sales Desk Personnel provides product and service information both on the telephone and in person. He/she is also responsible to resolve product and service problems. Job Duties and Responsibilities * Attracts potential customers by answering product and service questions; suggesting information about other products and services. * Maintains literature and samples, keeping showroom stocked with product. * Opens and maintains customer accounts * Resolves product or service problems by clarifying the customer's complaint; determining the cause of the problem; selecting and explaining the best solution to solve the problem; expediting correction or adjustment; following up to ensure resolution. * Takes payments, processes adjustments and maintains customer financial accounts * Recommends potential products or services to management by collecting customer information and analyzing customer needs. * Prepares product or service reports by collecting and analyzing customer information. * Maintains inventory controls by collecting stock location orders and printing requests. * Maintains quality service by following organizational standards. * Checks inventory for product availability, providing delivery dates to customers and verifying prices. * Deals with transfers to other branches / directs (type up orders, print orders, get tracking numbers when requested) * Provides warehouse backup and support as required. * Assists in day to day administration duties such as: Ordering, invoicing, stock entry, transfers, purchasing, putting away stock, general housekeeping, vendor and freight claims, etc as required. * Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing publications as required. * Contributes to team effort and completes other duties as required or assigned. Qualifications * Minimum grade 12 with preference given to a post secondary education. * Minimum of 2 years related experience in administration or sales role. * Ideal candidates for the role are efficient and adaptable workers with good all-round sales and administrative abilities * Professional communication skills * Strong attention to detail both written and spoken
