Hello, We are currently seeking users of a new maker space located near the intersection of Sayward and Pat Bay Hwy. Our ideal users include: Science, Technology, Engineering and Math students who are seeking additional learning opportunities in these areas. This is an excellent opportunity for home schooled students and youth in our community to receive instruction from a certified and experienced teacher in Applied Design, Skills and Technology curriculum (Industrial Arts). The focus is to hone skills in math, science, design, engineering etc. through a hands on approach. In addition to youth tutoring, the space is available for experienced community members who are interested in, and need a space appropriate for creating art including visual art, sculpting, wood working, metal working, blacksmithing, etc. The space is well-equipped and growing based on user need. We are also looking for members in the community who would be interested in teaching evening courses in the aforementioned arts and are open to your ideas. On site faciities include: Office, main workshop space, tool room, meeting room, kitchen, 2 washrooms, secure storage. This location is run and managed by ArtsCalibre Academy, an independent, non-profit, arts-focused school in Victoria from K-9.
