As Your Postpartum Doula, my first priority is to ensure that the new mother is as rested and relaxed as possible. I bring empathy, compassion and non-judgemental support to the new family and try to lighten the load that new and even seasoned parents inevitably feel. What I do.... The services I provide will vary from client to client, but typical postpartum services include: Breastfeeding/bottle-feeding support/instruction (help build mama and babe nest for feeding in comfort: nursing basket with snacks, water/hydration, foot stool if needed, etc.) Day and Evening Care Newborn Care and Baby soothing skills as well as evidence-based support in any issues that may arise. Provide encouragement for partner in ways to support mum. Light Housekeeping Meal preparation Baby equipment expertise Support in setting up changing/diapering stations Support with set up of bedtime routine for as much sleep as possible! Provide support as siblings adjust and transition for those families welcoming another child. Support and referrals to local resources as they come up (support groups, classes, therapists, acupuncturist, chiropractors, babysitters, household cleaners, etc).
