Raised in Kelowna, BC , Parksville, BC , and Budapest, Hungary. Serena Bòdi   was introduced to the violin at the age of 4 by a traveling Violinist, and started Suzuki Violin at the age of 5 .    In spite of a college aptitude test recommending a career as a   Law Secretary, Serena completed a music degree at the University of Victoria before the age of 20, and went on to start a Masters in violin performance at the Franz Liszt Acadamy with a minor in music education and music history starting in 2020. Serena has been a soloist in the Miss Canada Pageant and won 2017 and 2018. She has performed as the orchestras assistant concertmaster and second violinists leader many times in Courtney, Parksville and Campbell River with CYMC and the Courtney Orchestra. Serena currently has about 25 students.   Some of her former students are currently studying at universities across Canada, and one is now a member of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra. Having taught for eight years, Serena has entered many students in the Upper Island Music Festival with great results. Her teaching practice also includes Suzuki Method and Royal Conservatory of Music examinations which in the past have been very successful, Seeing results ranging from Honours to First Class Honours with Distinction.
