Isopods, ok technically they're terrestrial crustaceans. If you're a fan of invertebrates then you probably know in Canada your choices are limited. Isopods are one exception and come in a variety of sizes and colours. Whether you're looking for a low maintenance first pet for kids, janitors for your gecko viv or feeders for your dart frogs there's an isopod to do the job. The isopods I sell are CB and from long term colonies. Why does this matter? Wild isopods are heavy metal collectors. They can contain high levels of toxic lead, mercury etc. If you are using WC for feeders or janitors you need to culture them for around a year. After 2-3 generations they will be safe to use.
