S.D. #71 (Comox Valley) S1920-028 REGULAR PAYROLL CLERK School Board Office, Start Date: July 1, 2019 Closing Time & Date 13:00 Hrs Tuesday, May 21, 2019 We are currently searching for a REGULAR PAYROLL CLERK, 35 hours per week, 12 months per year. The rate of pay for this position is $25.31 per hour. QUALIFICATIONS: Grade 12 education supplemented by completion of a business administration program diploma or equivalent, and Payroll Certification such as Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) through Canadian Payroll Association; typing speed of 40 wpm; proficient in Microsoft EXCEL, WORD, and relevant Microsoft Office Suite programs; minimum two years of current payroll experience which includes large computerized payrolls in a school district or similar environment; experience in the use of relevant office equipment; meets the physical requirements of the position; ability to work independently and as a member of a team; excellent interpersonal and communication skills. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Duties are performed under the supervision of the Payroll Supervisor or designate; processes necessary information to arrive at the appropriate pay; ensures compliance with current statutory and contract payroll requirements and Board policies and procedures; familiar with relevant union contracts, pension agreements, certifications, and employee benefits; ensures completion of all reports, deductions/remittances, etc. in a timely, orderly and efficient manner; responds to direct enquiries from employees and outside agencies as it relates to employee earnings; assists other staff as time permits; follows proper work procedures, observes all regulations pertinent to the work, maintains a good working relationship with other employees, and cooperates in attaining a healthy learning and working environment; performs other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
