Fine art studio print shop in downtown Victoria is looking to fill a part time position (15-20 hours a week to start). Knowledge and experience in the fine arts, printing, production and/or framing an asset. Duties would include: quoting, invoicing, consulting with artists on print and design projects (phone, email and in person), packing, shipping, recycling, general cleaning, and other related duties. Requirements: Efficient and precise administrative skills Experience in a busy office/production environment essential Strong communication and customer service skills Comfort with math for the purpose of providing quotes Ability to work alone and with others Concise and clean work habits Attention to detail is extremely important Ability to do some moderately heavy lifting while moving papers and supplies (of up to approximately 30 lb) Computer skills in a Mac environment (Word, Excel, Mail) Assets Background in the arts Print experience Photolab or framing experience Photoshop skills Indesign skills Good sense of colour We are a one of a kind fine art print service that offers high quality reproduction and design work directly to artists. We provide design, limited edition archival printing, self publishing, and digital printing services exclusively to artists. Team building and cross over training is the foundation of our workflow and efficiency. This is a one of a kind permanent position in a unique company and we are looking for a long term interest due to a long training period. 15-20 hours a week during training (three months), plus some coverage for vacation and the flexibility to take on extra hours when needed during busy times (can be flexible). This position will grow into a full time position for the right person. 3 month training/probation period. Only those passionate about the fine arts need apply. Starting at $15 hour for training period. Those who can demonstrate little or no need for training will be paid according to their skills.
