JOB SUMMARY The Office & Facility Assistant is the first point of contact for most callers and visitors to the Burnside Gorge Community Centre. This position works collaboratively with the administrative team to ensure efficient functioning of the reception area, provides administrative support to agency operations and helps manage facility bookings (room rentals). SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE *Strong communication and organizational skills are required *Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and G-suite *Willing and able to quickly learn new software and continuously adapt to ongoing software, process, and procedural improvements *Good understanding of basic financial administration *Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills *Strong planning, organizing, and administrative skills *In addition, the ideal candidate will contribute to a team-focused work environment, working collaboratively across departments to best meet the needs of those we serve *Level 1 Occupational First Aid certificate or a willingness to obtain this within an agreed upon deadline is required *Working knowledge of Publisher and/or Adobe Creative Suite would be considered assets * This position requires a moderate level of fitness HOURS OF WORK 35 hrs/week, Monday through Friday. Primarily afternoon/evening work (shifts of 7.5 hours with start times varying from 10:30am to 1:30pm depending on programming). Occasional afternoon or weekend shifts as required. $17/hr. Paid sick leave. Extended health benefits after probationary period.
