Motorcycle Maintenance Workshop

Join us for an afternoon workshop on motorcycle maintenance! Learn how to get your bike ready for winter riding or storage, as well as basic maintenance using tools available at the Victoria Tool Library. Topics covered include: -Oil changes (and what oil should I use?) -Air filter cleaning -Battery maintenance -How to use specific tools like torque wrenches and carb balancers -How to avoid fastener frustration There are lots of different types of motorcycles out there, and lots of different things to learn. Rather than try to teach you everything about everything, we're going to focus on general principles and help you learn 'How to become an expert in your own bike', which will not only save you money but also make you a better rider. Our facilitator Al Herle has experience mainly with carbureted Japanese-made bikes but most of the principles you'll learn in this workshop can be applied to all types of motorcycles. Al will have his own Yamaha on-hand to demonstrate. The workshop is free for Victoria Tool Library members, and by donation for non-members, thanks to support from the Township of Esquimalt Community Grants.
