Mobile Application Developer

We are a small and ambitious team of software developers, geographers, ecologists, traditional use specialists, and GIS analysts, working together with one common goal: empowering Indigenous communities to mobilize their own information. Our bootstrapped Software-as-a-Service product is helping communities across Canada gather and manage their environmental monitoring, land use, and archival data. We're looking for a mobile application developer to help us continue pushing our groundbreaking software forward. Your skill set should align with our current product tech stack. A minimum of two years of work experience related to the development of native iOS and/or Android mobile applications is required. Other highly desirable skills are experience: developing applications with Flutter, integrating with mobile mapping, developing using geolocation services, developing with Mapbox mobile SDK. Our work is highly collaborative and the successful candidate will also need to demonstrate creativity, flexibility, strong communication skills, and experience working independently with direct accountability to a team. This position will be based in our head office in Victoria, BC. There you will work closely with our research and consulting staff, and remotely with the director of software development and the rest of our development team based outside of BC. We'll also consider remote candidates as long as you're close enough for a weekly face-to-face work day in Victoria and otherwise as required.
