Metal Finisher / Labourer

Specific Mechanical Systems Ltd. is a manufacturer of micro-brewing and distillation equipment, pressure vessels, food processing equipment, pharmaceutical vessels, and water/waste water treatment plants. We are a global leader and require motivated applicants looking to grow with the company over the long term. A Metal Finisher/Labourer is needed to join the Finishing Department. Qualifications Hands on mechanical and fabrication shop experience; Extensive use of various power tools; Industrial/manufacturing experience; Proven attendance and safety record. Key Competencies Attention to mechanical detail and quality; Organized, self-starting, proactive get-the-job-done-right attitude; Leadership, supervision, coaching and mentoring experience an asset; Computer skills; able to keep notes and records; Ability to coordinate projects, prioritize and meet deadlines; Crane and forklift experience considered an asset. Key Duties Use a variety of power and hand tools to produce required finishes on stainless and copper equipment; Assist in work flow organization and prioritization; Use correct techniques (training provided) in a safe and efficient manner; Safely and efficiently organize, set up, handle and transfer work pieces; Cooperate and coordinate with other departments; e.g., welding and shipping. Key Qualities High degree of ownership for work area, tools and equipment; High degree of responsibility for meeting production schedules and maintaining quality; We will be screening based on sharpness of character and work ethic. The starting wage depends on experience.
