Maintenance Worker

As a maintenance worker 2 you are an important member of the team working alongside other team members in the daily gardening tasks of ground maintenance at our various contracted properties. As a grounds maintenance 2 you will be required to operate a variety of tools and equipment to carry specified job tasks. You must love to work hard in a fast paced environment and have fun while you do! * Aid in the loading and unloading of trucks and trailer in the Am and PM * Cut grass, trim edges, clean up refuse, blow trimmings, and fertilize turf areas. Weed beds, prune and fertilize shrubs to maximize the plant health as well as any other maintenance duties as directed by the supervisor or foreman. * Operate power equipment including but not limited to lawn tractors, lawn movers, line trimmers, blowers, hedge trimmers, pruning saws and chain saws. * Conduct daily inspections and maintenance on vehicles, tools and equipment * Assist foreman/supervisor in other work-related duties including shop and yard maintenance, vehicle and equipment maintenance * Ensure that all work activities are carried out in a safe and efficient manner, wearing the appropriate personal protective equipment at all times * Communicate with customers in a polite and courteous manner * High School Diploma, GED or equivalent * You are a great listener * You are responsible and dependable * Ability to work both independently with little supervision, and as part of a team * Knowledge of trees, shrubs and perennials and the identification of them * Speak, read and Write English well * Ability to walk, stand, crouch for long periods of time and carry out strenuous physical task * Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs repeatedly through a day * Work outdoors in various condition including heat and humidity, rain, dust, noise and cold * Excellent stamina is required * Ability to work in a fast paced environment * Excellent time management skills * Ability to work with hand tools, power tools, small engine equipment and materials * Valid class 5 driver's licence and clean driver's abstract
