Maintenance Engineer

Benson Cabinetry & Millwork is currently looking for a Maintenance Engineer. Our busy manufacturing plant is looking for a fulltime millwright to fulfil a maintenance schedule, as well as do on-the-spot repair when necessary on our 20+ machines. We have a mixture of brand new and older machines to be maintained. The successful person would preferably have a good working knowledge of CNC, Saws and Edge banders, but transferrable skills will be considered. Maintenance Engineers at Benson have some or all the following tasks: - Install, align, dismantle, and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment - Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions - Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts - Operate machine tools such as lathes and grinders to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance, or set-up of machinery - Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on machinery - Maintain locks/lockout tag out and procedures in accordance with WCB - Maintain a pro-active maintenance schedule - Keep workspaces hazard free - Running cable or electrical lines where required and necessary - Other duties and tasks as assigned Qualifying Requirements - Ability to read and write fluently in English - Prior work in secondary wood processing machine repair - Industrial mechanic (millwright) trade certification is available, but voluntary, in all provinces and territories. - Construction millwright trade certification is available, but voluntary, in Quebec and Ontario. - Legally permitted to work in Canada The chosen candidate will work safely, and within our and WCB guidelines, will be able to stand for extended periods of time and have a demonstrated ability to lift from 10-50 lbs as required, but not ongoing. It should be noted that this is a position that requires the use of steel toed boots while on shift. We offer competitive wages, state of the art equipment and a comprehensive benefits package.
