$123,456 · UPDATED METCHOSIN Community Concert Band Seeks ALL Levels of Musicians!

Excited to announce that Metchosin will be starting up a community concert band in FEBRUARY, 2019. Nominal cost (but not completely free). The cost will be to cover expenses. Anticipated frequently asked questions: I haven't played my instrument in a while. Does that matter? Absolutely not! This is for all levels, even beginners. I don't have an instrument. What can I do? I have a few instruments available for people to borrow. If you're nice to it you can even borrow it for a nominal fee. Does it cost anything? There will be a nominal cost involved. This will cover incidental expenses. How many times a week will you meet? So far we anticipate meeting once a week for 60 to 90 minutes of rehearsal. THURSDAYS from 6:30-7:55 pm. Do I have to practice outside of rehearsal time? I would hope that you would. Life happens though. Just do your best. Will there be concerts or performances? There will be a performance every few months or so. Very very low-key. If you have serious anxiety, we can talk about it. What are the ages of the people that you want to join the band? This is an all ages, community-oriented, all-inclusive group. I want to join but I don't know what instrument I want to play. What should I do? Come on out and when we get together for the first rehearsal I can help. What kind of instruments are you looking for? Traditionally, concert band is made up of woodwind instruments, brass instruments, and percussion. Where will the rehearsals be? Go to our Facebook page (the website link)and accept the invite to the first meetup and you will have access to the location (10 minutes from Langford or Colwood, in Metchosin). The only requirement is that you come wanting to have some fun and to learn how to play music together.
