Lead Hand

Location - 2901 Sooke Rd, Victoria, BC V9C 3W7 The Opportunity Slegg Building Materials Langford is seeking a full time Lead Hand to work in our yard and warehouse. Key Account Responsibilities and Functions (Include but are not limited to the following) * Act as an ambassador of the company with all employees and customers * Communicate with the operations team via telephone and email * Supervise and direct yard staff to maintain efficiency * Schedule and assign work to staff * Ensure adherence to all company and safety policies * Continuously strive to achieve company objectives regarding productivity and customer service * Ensure a positive and safe work environment * Maintain a clean organized yard * Obtain and follow clear direction from managers and ensure a high level of effectiveness * Physically demanding * Maintain an emphasis on a safety culture, customer service, and efficiency as top priorities Required Skills and Qualifications * Strong interpersonal and organizational skills * Strong leadership skills * Ability to work in a fast paced environment * Ability to work rotating shifts, including evenings * Previous experience in a similar role is required * A broad knowledge of building supplies is required * Valid class 5 Driver's licence is an asset * Forklift experience considered beneficial * A positive can do attitude is essential!
