Lab Technician: Development and Production at Victoria-based Laboratory facility

StressMarq Biosciences, a Victoria based company is seeking to fill 2 entry-level laboratory positions in the development and production areas. Principal activities surround the generation and characterization of antibodies as well as the development and production of fibrilized proteins used in neurodegenerative research. StressMarq is currently the only company world-wide to be generating these constructs, and is enjoying significant growth as a result. Job duties * Aid in Laboratory set up, organization and maintenance. Safe handling of all chemicals and equipment. * Assist in keeping the laboratory clean and efficient. * Aid in selection of new equipment for the laboratory where necessary. * Assist and carry out antibody purification and characterization through use of electrophoretic and spectroscopic techniques * Engage in and optimize microbiological fermentation work * Carry out protein oligomerization and fibrilization work * Carry out laboratory analyses on fibrilized and oligomerized proteins * Assist in antibody and Elisa assay testing. * Assist in all data analysis for product datasheet, methods and kit booklet generation as required. * Generate project reports as required * Keep accurate records and timesheets of all work. * Meet all quality-related requirements of Quality Management System. * Be available and generate laboratory reports and be available for laboratory meetings. * Other relevant duties may be added Qualifications and requirements * Recent B.Sc. of higher in Biology, Biochemistry, or related * Excellent laboratory skills * Background in Neuroscience a bonus * Good communications skills, written and oral * Attention to detail is mandatory * Ability to work in a team and individually * Be motivated to work in a small company * Having a driver's license is useful but not mandatory Application: Please send cover letter and CV/resume to Dr. A.
