Red wigglers, (Eisenia foetida), are hard-working, locally-grown worms that will make a huge difference to your compost--better texture and faster composting. Wigglers are 8 times better at creating compost than earthworms. Can be used in outside or indoor composters--all seasons. $20 for 200 worms plus worm hatchlings to get your next generation going. They don't tolerate high heat, freezing temperatures or direct sunlight, so they may leave an open pile in search of a better environment. A covered bin located in shade/part-shade is ideal. Q. Can I keep them indoors? A. Yes. It may even be more desirable as there is less stress to the worms from temperature swings. A normally functioning bin has a pleasant, earthy smell. Q: Can I just drop by for worms? A. No, I need time to collect them. I don't keep worms packaged as they are happier living in their bins. Q. Where are you located? A.
