K9 Caregiver (Doggy Daycare Attendant)

K9HQ Doggy Daycare is looking for an outgoing person to be our next K9 Caregiver. If you are a reliable team player who is not afraid to work hard and get your hands dirty, this could be the place for you! Position available is permanent part time Monday to Friday. Starting wage will depend on experience. There is opportunity for advancement with the right motivated candidate into specialized areas such as grooming or training. This job is a lot more than cuddling with dogs (though we do get our cuddles in). It is a fast paced environment with LOTS of cleaning and requires a reasonable level of physical fitness. The right candidate will be a reliable, motivated hard worker with a strong ability to multitask. Training is provided but a basic understanding of canine behaviour & breed types is a plus. Customer service skills are extremely important. We are a busy indoor doggy daycare and K9 Caregivers are responsible for supervising play groups in calm, confident & positive manner. Cleaning is constant - must be okay dealing with pee, poo, vomit, as well as thorough daily washing and disinfecting of the entire facility. While supervising dogs is the name of the game, this is a customer service job and the right candidate will possess strong communication skills toward both clients and coworkers. Shifts start as early as 6:00am and finish as late as 6:30pm so transportation must be considered before applying. Interviews & job shadow sessions will be offered to those that qualify.
